Precision 3620 Secure Wipe set a password on my hard drive

I used a Precision 3620 workstation to wipe a Sandisk SSD. The operation failed and now there is a password set on the hard drive. I get the message on boot:

"Hard-drive ___________, the system internal HDD-2, is protected by a password authentication system. You cannot access data on this hard drive without the correct password. Please type in the hard drive password."

There has never been a password set on this drive. There is no BIOS password. What happened? I need to use this disk.

Thanks.
