I have tried to install the driver for the 720 printer (free one) a few times now, both by downloading the driver from the Dell website, and also by running the CD-ROM that was provided.  I run Windows XP Home on my computer.  Both ways I receive the following error:

"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.  The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications.  Choose 'Close' to terminate the application"

 

I have also tried opening and installing the driver after I have turned off the script blocking in Norton AntiVirus.  Sometimes if this is enabled, some scripts can be firewalled. This doesn't work either.

 

Dell support is sending me another disk.  I don't think that this will help.  Any other suggestions anyone?  Is this printer only operable connected to a Dell computer?
