Microsoft Word 2003 - File Conversion
On my Dimension 4800 computer, I use WordPerfect 9 and Microsoft Word 2003. Whenever I attempt to open a WordPerfect file from the My Documents folder, MW 2003 tries to convert it from WP to MW. I have allowed this to happen on a couple of occasions, but the files were messed up. Can anyone tell me how to turn off this Microsoft Word feature?

It sounds like the WordPerfect files are incorrectly associated with Word. In Windows Explorer right-click a WordPerfect file and select "Open with" from the context menu. On the next dialog click "Choose program" at the bottom of the screen. On the next dialog that opens select Word Perfect and check the box at the bottom that tells Windows to always use that application for that file type.
