I bought an XPS One 2710 two months ago. I am still getting "Service Tag not Supported" in My Dell Downloads. I would like to download the SW in preparation to upgrading to Windows 8.
The message 'Service Tag is not supported' means that the system you are trying to register does not have any software downloadable from 'My Dell Downloads'.
Most applications shipped with the system can be downloaded from the respective sites. Let me know which factory installed applications you want, so that I can look for the direct links and provide you with the same.
Let me know if you need further assistance. I will be happy to help.

If you want to upgrade to Windows 8 you wont need most of the applications as Windows 8 already has in built applications like the Camera tile instead of the the Dell Webcam Central, you can also download softwares like adobe directly from the adobe website.
If you want to move back to Windows 7 in the future you can install the Dell Webcam Central from the direct link mentioned below.

My XPS One 2710 is not a refurbished unit. And it came with FastAccess facial recognition version 3.0. I do not have the installation media, I cannot access My Dell Downloads (you wrote this is the regular behavior, I cannot understand why). I need the new version FastAccess Anywhere (4.0) that supports Windows 8. I am about to upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium. Can you send me the installation media for FastAccess?
I've upgraded my Inspiron One 2310 to Windows 8 and have similar issues with My Downloads not able to read my service-tag (works fine under Windows 7). As I'm also trying to download my software (Facial Recognition, Dell Stage, etc.), can you help me out?
