Problem with Drive letter assignment
Dell Dimension E520 delivered with Windows installed on C: and visible recovery partition on D:.
Needed to re-install Win Xp pro, but XP setup gave hard drives as C: = recovery partition, D: = System (Windows).
Question 1 Why does XP setup see the partitions as being the opposite to the previous Windows install ?
Colleague re-installed Win XP on D:.
Now Windows has C: = recovery partition, D: = System.
Disk management thinks both of these are boot partitions so won't let us change the drive letters.
Question 2 Is there any way to make what is currently D: become C: and C become D: ?
Question 3 Can the Recovery partition be hidden ?
