Why *must* it be scheduled to also get scheduled driver update checks?

I would not even be down this road, but for another support issue, I *VERY* reluctantly allowed an agent to do remote control, and the first thing he did was open support assist and click this button, without asking me!  And then I had to fight for control to keep him from clicking Tune performance, etc...

Show your work:  There are other threads on this, that are either marked solved without a solution, or are older, so why not another one?
