It would appear Java 8 is not supported in OMSA 8.1.0, which is bundled with JRE 7u72; but where after selecting a Java 8 "System JRE" (u51); the web server will not restart. Running a Repair on the installation and thereby restoring the default settings is required; and, unsurprisingly there are no issues subsequently selecting a newer Java 7 JRE (u80).

Yet, obviously Java 7 is no longer [publicly] updated; so information on support for Java 8 would be appreciated.
