On my desktop, Windows ME, I did a defrag. two years ago and the hard drive went.  I read in a pc magazine not to defrag. ME.  I feel my computer needs it.  Why should I read that it is not adviseable to do a defrag. on ME.  Thanks.   I have done it successfully on my notebook Inspiron 1150 before I did the SP2.
