Local area connection cable unplugged
When I attempt connecting to a local area network via internet explorer I receive a message stating that an internet cable is unplugged. I know that the LAN is active since another laptop works using the same cable and connection. I get the same message each time in different locations. Dial-up networking works fine. When I follow instructions to restore the network and then go into internet connections in control panel, I have a red X through the local area connection-cable unplugged icon. How can I restore my internet explorer capability? Thanks in advance.
