This is a continuation of my 10/16 message. May not be a Windows problem but don't know where else to start.

I have three problems:

1. Press (Delete) to resume on startup. No big deal. It has gone away in the past.
2. On startup, desktop appears normally and after about 10 seconds, screen blanks and reappears with large icons and print. I return it to normal by going to "display properties", "settings" and then changing screen resolution.
3. System will not boot with WinXP disc. It ignores the disc and boots as above.

System is Dell Dimension L933r with:

933 processor
256 RAM
40 Gig hard drive. Original, used as backup. I use Norton Ghost and clone the system to the backup hard drive.
60 Gig hard drive. Less than 1 year old.
External Iomega USB 2.0 hard drive used as outside backup. Connected only one day a week.
WinXP Pro

On 10/15, the system started booting to the backup. Fixed that with boot.ini. Then problem 2 appeared.
I have vacuumed the interior and reseated all connections including RAM and hard drives. I removed all PCI cards, then restarted and checked the four diagnostic lights. Still yygy, no change. I decided to try a system repair and problem 3 appeared.
