Tend Micro internet security "firewall not working"

Hi I bought a XPS 1530 laptop with Trend Micro as the antivirus program. The problem I am having is that can not get the firelwall to work properly. The problem so far is it does not seem to launch the firewall on launch and also when I try running it after boot I get a vista dependency error in vista.

This same issue has entries for winXp but have not found anythin pertaining Vista as of yet. Thinking of doing a reinsall to find the dependancy but think there may be a better fix.

    hmm.

i have trend micro with my vista home premium and i have not encountered such a problem.  do you have both your windows firewall and TM firewall active? if yes, disable the windows firewall and see what happens  have you installed the SP1 release candidate? if yes, that might be what's causing the firewall to not work.  i had to remove the SP1 RC because TM's firewall would not work (but that was a problem with TM, not vista).

but honestly, i don't really know why the firewall isn't working.

    Try this:

Go to Network and Sharing Center.

    Then to Manage Network Connections.

Then to Change Setting for This Connection.

If Trend Micro Common Firewall Driver is there and checked, uncheck it.

    Restart.

    Problem should be resolved.

You can still use the Windows Firewall.

We hope Dell or Intel or Trend Micro come up with a patch.  It is related to the Intel NIC because I tried a Netgear (Realtek) NIC and the problem went away.

K last night I downloaded a update for my ethernet card. Still did not work to opened the trend file and clicked pcc tools. I uninstalled the firewall rebooted and installed the firewall. Rebooted again and now it works. I have not tested the wireless yet though.
