The PC is an I1100 running WinXP Home SP1, fully updated with all critical updates.

I want to be able to boot the PC to the logon screen.

Besides the Administrator, there is only 1 user defined, as an administrator.  However, the Guest account is activated.  I want the PC to boot to the account logon screen so either the user or guest can logon.  Right now the PC automatically logs on to the user, bypassing the logon screen.  None of the accounts has a password.

In the User Accounts dialog (control userpasswords2) the "Users must enter a name and password to use this computer" check box is checked.

I have been here and followed the various methods which have not helped.  Editing HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon removing DefaultUserName and setting AutoAdminLogon to 0 has not helped.

If I define an additional user, the PC will then boot to a logon screen, displaying the two users and the Guest.  But defining an additional user in order to force a logon screen is not preferable.
