Just recently my Windows XP has failed to boot up. I see the box start up as normal with the Windows XP logo and progress bar moving. Then when it should go to the choose user screen I get a blank screen with only the mouse cursor. I tried a system restore to an earlier date but got nothing. I saw some posts to run a chkdsk /r. I tried that from safe mode but nothing happened. In fact I can not even boot up in safe mode recently. Does anyone know how to solve this problem. I was thinking about running an OS repair but I realized Dell did not include a Windows XP Home CD. Did dell include some utility to repair this problem. Or can I purchase the CD without a license since I already have one. Please contact me a let me know Dan
