XP slow after boot up.
Please help!
I have a Dimension 4550 2.4Ghz with 768MB RAM running on XP. My problem does not have to do with a slow boot up, but after. My system literally takes 1-2 minutes after I log into my (or any other user) account before I am able to do anything.
I have an antivirus, spyware removal tools that I run on a periodic basis and doing a defrag doesn't seem to help.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Something is loading that is taking all that time. You should be able to identify it by going into the startup tab of msconfig (Start|Run, type msconfig and click OK). Uncheck the items one at a time until the time lag no longer occurs. That will identify the culprit which you can then either leave unchecked or remove using the procedures given here.
In the event of any questions about an item on the startup tab, information on it will probably be available here.
