HDMI1 vs HDMI2
New dell desktop computer and new dell 32" curved screen monitor.
the HDMI cable that comes with the monitor only fits in HDMI ! ... it just falls out of HDMI2.
I'm assuming they are both standard HDMI sockets?
any suggestions?

@mtbikes For privacy reason, you should not post your service tag in this forum. @DELL-Cares asked that you send that information via Direct / Private message to him. I assume your reference to HDMI2 you are referring to the HDMI connector on the monitor because your NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti only has one HDMI connector and the computer (Intel Integrated Graphics) only has one HDMI connector. Since you did not tell us the model of your monitor I cannot verify that your monitor has two HDMI connectors, but I can tell you the all HDMI connectors identical and standard.

Some Dell 32 inch monitors DO have 2 HDMI in ports (as well as a Display Port).. I've got a Dell S3221QS for instance and have that. take a pic of the cable and HDMI 1 and 2 you are talking about then upload to your reply. are the HDMI 1 and 2 referring to video ports of a discrete video card of your PC?
I think you have a video card that looks this. It has three DP ports and one HDMI. just hope you are not confusing DP with HDMI.

@mtbikes @redxps630 is correct, there is only one HDMI port on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 36060 Ti graphics card according to the description on the Dell site that lists the options for the graphics cards for the XPS 8940.

I think I'm all set now.. googled DP port and now know it is the next generation connector after HDMI .. my monitor does not have DP..
