Operating System recovery image question.

Does the “operating system recovery image” available for purchased XPS 15 9510 include all software as originally shipped? Or am I taking it to literally to understand it to be just the “operating system” either Windows 10 or 11 as shipped with the machine.  I am contemplating swapping to a larger boot drive and I know I can just as easily do a clean install but if I wanted to restore the XPS 15 to a complete as purchased software state is the image all inclusive of the software that comes with the machine?  Can you install this image on the new larger drive or will it only image to the drive originally shipped with the machine?18B7DDAB-F660-4984-8B63-F4B797F5C88A.jpeg

A Win 10/Win 11 Recovery drive is your best bet for doing a reset to Factory situation.  When created, it makes a Win 10/11 image on the fly of your current install.  Then the OEM options are added when you include all the files so they are restored along with Win 10/11.

As well as I remember, it does not take into account an increase in drive size but leaves the partitions at the original size..

Third party imaging software might be useful if increasing the drive size.  It does create an exact copy and can include other types of partitions such as the OEM Recovery Image partition.
