XPS 13 9310 2 in 1 hyperthreading can not be enabled

While in the latest BIOS (v2.4.1) for this XPS I am unable to enable hyperthreading again. It was disabled to do testing with another issue where the PC would lock up and overheat while attempting to sleep, that was resolved through trial and error in power settings and the new intel graphics option under performance in the BIOS. Hyperthreading did work previously and this is an i7-1165G7 listed as 4 core/8 thread.

Now, I have tried toggling the hyperthreading setting on and saving with and without the custom user setting checked, loaded all defaults and tried again and even reinstalled the bios in hopes of getting this resolved. It seems to save but when I move from the performance tab and then back the option is no longer toggled on. Stranger still is when I toggle the option back on the apply button lists "0 changes" to be made. Boot into Windows, only 4 core/4 threads available.

Anyone else having similar issues or think of another fix? Seems I am stuck with this version as rolling back is disabled due to security patches.
