Alienware ACT1250, GPU light turning on during sleep mode

Alienware Aurora ACT1250 (aka “R17“ )light and fans remaining on during sleep is a known behavior, often caused by "Modern Standby" or the system failing to enter a deep sleep state. To resolve this, enable ErP in the BIOS, set active fan profiles to "Quiet" in Alienware Command Center (AWCC), or use hibernation instead of sleep. 

• Enable ErP in BIOS: Enter BIOS (F2/Delete on boot), navigate to Platform Power, and enable ErP to force low-power consumption during sleep.
• Adjust AWCC Profiles: Set thermal profiles to "Quiet" to reduce fan activity during idle or sleep periods.
• Use Hibernation/Shut Down: Due to issues with Windows Modern Standby, switching from "Sleep" to "Hibernate" or fully shutting down is recommended..

I do not have the ErP setting in my BIOS menu unfortunately.  

Switching to hibernate does  resolve the issue. 

At this point Dell's solution is to replace the motherboard as they believe it is faulty and sending a signal to the GPU to wake, I dont really agree but we'll try that and see.

I'm having the same issue on my AAT2250 just recently bought. Plus my case lighting comes on too including the power button lighting up and then instantly it all goes back off. (Which brought me here after some Google searching) Dell is so quick to start replacing parts because they don't want to trouble shoot. Obviously you didn't need a new MB - I'm going to try Hibernate tonight myself. I already disabled Allow Wake Timers. 

All the threads I've read absolutely point to process, background tasks, etc still running when in 'sleep' mode. Also as redxps mentioned too 'Modern Standby'.

I have a recent post made yesterday about hundreds of these errors while in SLEEP mode that directly relates to AWCC

Yea I spent a couple months trying to figure it out with no avail.  Replacement motherboard, replacement GPU, SSD, Pretty much everything.  I requested a replacment device and was able to trade for the AAT2250.  Still the same issue with the new machine.  I begrudingly switched to using hibernate which soilves the GPU issue but now other issues popped up.  AWCC doesnt recongnize lighting devices frequently, which I have to hard reset the computer every couple of weeks to resolve.  I currently cant get AWCC to switch into game mode when playing a game so frame counter just shows as current SSD storage.  Hard reset doesnt fix it, repairing/reinstalling AWCC doesnt fix it.  Hibernate also doesnt wake properly, if I go to play a game after hibernate there is significant lag and stuttering which doesnt correct itself until after a PC restart.  Currently have CPU C-States disabled in the bios to see if it corrects the issue but still testing.  

Unfortunately Dell Supports resolution for these issues to do a clean install of Windows, which I am done trying because of the multiple times I've tried at their request it has not resolved any of the issues.
