Alienware Area-51 R5 - After disabling secure boot, cannot boot into Windows
PC specs: Alienware Area-51 R5, 2019 model.
I'm attempting to do a dual boot of Ubuntu and Windows.
To do this, I:
- Disabled fastboot
- Disabled UEFI secure boot
- Installed Ubuntu
This all succeeded and I had the boot menu when I turn on my pc show the option to boot into Ubuntu and Windows. I can successfully boot into Ubuntu. However, when I boot into Windows, I get the Alienware logo with the spinning dots under it, then an error screen saying it could not boot into Windows and I need to restart.
When I re-enable secure boot, I can login to windows successfully.
Is there a way to configure Windows so that it works in non-secure boot mode?
