Area-51 R2, case CPU fan clearance

Hi everyone,

I recently have upgraded my Alienware Area-51 R2 case with new parts(5800X, 6800XT, GSKILL Trident Z Neo, MSI tomahawk X570, 3 new 120 120Pro fans) and so far very happy with the upgrade as even the lights perfectly work, but now im having difficulty cooling the 5800X with the R2's stuck CPU AIO cooler. I have looked into 120mm AIO coolers and apparently they are not gonna be much of a help and I have decided I should go with and air cooler like Noctua nh-d15. Now, I'm not really sure if the case would even fit the Noctua cooler.

Would appreciate suggestions and recommendations from everyone, specially from forum members that have already tried using the said cooler in Area-51 R2 case.

Cheers

Looks like your cooler's upside down, flip it around so tubes are up top (OEM cooler & Corsair H80i V2 shown)

Re: air cooler

I used Vigor Monsoon III LT, no clearance issue in R2 case.

Thanks for pointing that out, I corrected it and installed another 120mm fan to help out with the cooling. The Cpu is running slightly cooler.

What CPU are you running under that?

Cheers.

5800X seems to be a bit of anomaly when it comes to cooling. My first thought was if the stuck AIO is good enough to cool of 140W TDP 7820x then it should be enough to cool 105W 5800X.

I'm not sure if the cooler you suggested will work but will look into it. Thanks.
