Set Alienware Command Center thermals to Manual, then some nice up-hill-curves (especially the front fan, as it brings cool-air in).
Install CPUID's HW-Monitor to measure temps at idle and max-gaming. Once you know exactly what is over-heating, you can formulate a plan to fix/adjust.
Install MSI-Afterburner and setup a better fan-curve for GPU if needed.

120F is not hot for a GTX-980 GPU .
120F near a GTX-980 is completely normal and expected.
