@zwzwzw :

Understood. I almost ran into a disaster when my custom liquid loop leaked when I first put it together.

I guess low profile options from Scythe or Noctua would be your alternative but to get one at the specs and AM4 socket is tough.

Just for : I bought a CPU air cooler.

Perfect.Perfect.

@zwzwzw

My 2 cents is that any air cooler, low profile or not, is going to be halved in efficiency because it's blocked by the PSU swing arm. That's why liquid cooling gives such a boost in cooling effectiveness because you get the whole 120mm radiator area blowing out top.

@GTS81 thanks this is also my concern, I didn't know the space is so limited before I purchase this thing. I see people did some comparison before, 1cm clearance above the low profile cooler should be enough, which probably mean I should go something <50mm. issue for aurora cases is that they're supposed to work with liquid cooling, so there's barely design for air passage around cpu...I just want a stable machine with air cooler, I had one AIO leaked on my older computer so it's probably my last choice if i can't get a decent air cooler

@Anonymous it's just view angle, the fan is pretty small will not intersect with memories, even with those tall rgb ones

@Anonymous by DIMM 3 you mean the memory slots?

@GTS81 haha maybe I should also get a new case....

noctua got has one model with 37mm but I doubt its capacity, others are all above 60 somothing.

I saw some reviews of axp90 from thermalright, it outperforms c7 in the 47mm range...sad thing is it's not sold in US..

The c7 now has the copper with graphene coating, which has the same rated performance as the axp90. Also hard to get in the us last time I che ked, but if you add ccc in stock alerts for it on amazon it routinely pops up.

I found a guy at my work that is a builder. He mainly does server type work stations, I think. He shared this with me today from a build he did back in 2013. THIS is a CPU air cooler.

If I were to go all out on an air cooler, I'd go with the faux Wraith Ripper:

the thing is as loud as a fighter jet, and only gets louder if you set custom fan curves.

i made the mistake of not checking the memory voltage before swapping to something that suited my premadonna needs. bought trident royal DDR4 3600mhz 1.35 volts PC428800

the machine hates it and dells xmps almost never boot so it crashes and reverts back to a disabled overclocking mode. it will cap my memory at 2133mhz on both xmp2 and overclock disabled, on xmp 1 will run memory at 2933mhz, and forget even entering custom timings. took me 10 no boot cycles to get the systems to readapt itself and boot.

so if we find a high CFM low noise fan set  are we buying it for an am4 socket or the lga1151?

the top fan moves  like 80cfm if i recall last i looked down from the top, thats why its so loud. and the whole machine cooks under almost no load. nothing running, and open alien ware command center and the thing takes off like a freight train and runs at 70* C, and routinely sits in the 90*C mark under any gaming load.

front intake fan is essentially useless.

its oem powersupply says its 550w however when you actually read the data plate of it, its only rated for 550w its output is still 450max., replaced that with a super flower III 850w 80+ gold

they also dont map your second drive if you chose the multiple option. so your boot nvme remains your default drive permanently.

we bought a second unit for broadcasting church service at my church, and someone went in and told it to boot on all cores on startup and it permanently bluescreened it and had to completely wipe and reinstall windows to it.

Yea, intel standard 75mm spacing, 100mm keep out, 115x / 1200.  Many kits include brackets for both intel and amd.  The problem is you're not going to find a much better option due to the height and length limitations, plus the programming to trigger a startup error with most non-Dell pwm fans.  The only viable alternative to the oem air cooler is an AIO  with a max 120mm rad in the oem rad box.

I believe it is LGA1151. Yeah, strange huh.

it is the angle, in some of my photos on page 4 and on my profile, there's plenty of space, however some of that space could have allowed for a larger heatsink unit and still had room for the memory
