Aurora R10, BIOS 2.2.5 notes

Hello everyone,
An other bios update for our beloved Aurora R10 Ryzen Edition, the 2.2.5

As always, not patch note, so I have no idea what is inside,

I did my 2 regular screen shots, before and after in order to hope for an AGESA update, and the answer is no

So Before : 2.2.4

After : 2.2.5

One thing I noticed this time, the XMP profile is loaded in the BIOS, but not active, a second reboot is at least necessary, but maybe go back in the BIOS to re-apply the profile.

Have a nice day

I do not believe you are ever going to see an AGESA update for the R10 Ryzen 3000 system, as that would include support in the Micro code for the Ryzen 5000 series.

I am thinking 1.0.0.6, an outdated version by now, is going to be the final release.

I couldnt see any difference between 2.2.4 and 2.2.5. XMP-profiles were loaded normaly with aftermarket crucial memory installed. I have a Ryzen 5900X though. Everything works fine, bios upate was no problem.

Well. I shan't be upgrading from 1.8.3 until I get assurances that this (or any) BIOS won't brick my machine like 2.2.1 and 2.2.2 did.

No way agesa update now it would cut their sales on new computers.

if they update the agesa in older R10, it won't cut sales... their minimum config in R10 had been with 5xxx ryzen for a long time now.

I wonder if the old R10 3xxx series may also be exposed to vulnerabilities due to old agesa version as well.

2.2.6 installed and no changes.
The only thing we can hope would be that Dell will give us the possibility to install 5000 series on 3000 motherboard, like a lot of board manufacturers are doing. maybe when 7000 Ryzen will be release and they wont sell 5000-R10 anymore ....

It's not going to happen.

I pulled the usable components from my R10 and moved them over to a retail board that cost around $175.

The latest bios for my retail board contains the following improvements. The board supports the Ryzen 3000 all the way up to the latest Ryzen 7X3D.

Interesting part is that it is a ROG B550 Strix F board, the mother company for the Pegatron boards used in the R10.

1. Update AMD AM4 AGESA V2 PI 1.2.0.6b
2. Improve system performance and stability
3. Improve system performance for AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D

My understanding is the 5xxx ryzen cpu needs a more recent agesa version.

The current bios and chipset supports it but it's block because of that agesa version limitation .
