Aurora R10, remove the 3.5" caddy to install second front fan?
Just got this machine, and have to confess that initially I was very skeptical of the design (Coming from a more open space Area 51 R2), but the tool-less GPU replacement is growing on me, I am happy with the space saving.
on cooling, the front intake fan is perfectly located for my blower style 5700XT so no complains (one question, is it possible to link (e.g. fan curve) the speed of the fan to the temperature of the GPU?)
my main question, is it possible to install (even if glued or with two sided tape another) 120mm intakefan where the 3.5in caddy is? has anyone tried it? I think it would be perfect to cool RAM and chipset (I have the AIO for the CPU).

Have you monitored the new CPU/GPU temperature? Is this additiona front fan worth it?

@Moinoz it certainly makes a huge difference on thermals as @r72019 says. glad you liked my photos

When I added a top front case fan it ended up making my GPU hotter by 5 degrees.
But my front top and front bottom fans were not identical..
Can anyone with identical fan share temps of just the bottom fan and then running with both top and bottom?
Also I did drop 3.5 hard drive to bottom. But it is usually at 50+ degrees. They would also contribute to making GPU warmer since lower front case fan will have to cool the hard drive too as well

Did you make sure the new fan that you added was set to intake?

Hi @PizzaBear
Heat usually rises, maybe you are not exhausting enough and the upper front fan is now blowing the cpu heat around the case back on to the GPU backplate.
What are your top and front fan speeds in AWCC?
The Noctua will be running at RPM x %frontspeed, note the Noctua is max 2000RPM. In my new Increased front thermal profile replacing the Balanced profile, I get airflow going and leaving the case with Top fan 24% and front fan 31%. However I have Two Noctuas, quieter and thus running 550-600 RPM.

Also maybe check the Noctua is turning, I cannot go more than 37% speed in AWCC or my 15mm slave fan stops.

Also, if you used a Y connector, did you make sure the OEM fan was set to primary?

So my Radiator is a sandwich with 2 noctua a12x25 pwm fan.
Previously before I got a hold of more noctua fans, I kept the stock front lower case fan and took the CPU fan to slot it at the top front of case.
I don't understand why by having both fan run, my GPU temperature goes higher but CPU temperature was about the same. By unplugging the top fan, it ended up with lower GPU temperatures by about 5 degrees.
It is a bit strange as I thought more fans should help in overall temperatures but not sure why didn't work out in my attempt.
I now have lower front as an additional noctua fan but need to figure out if it's worth getting one for top front case fan too. I just don't want to buy another premium fan and then find out it didn't help with temperatures.

Does, setting your TOP_FAN to max sort the problem?
As @r72019 said, are both your front fans intake?
The Noctua labels should be visible from inside the case
It also has arrows on it if you make that side visible.

Would a 14mm fan fit instead of adding another 12mm fan?

Hi r72019,
How do you mount your 3.5" caddy underneath as there is 2 protruding plastic clip interfering with the rear of the caddy.
Here's a photo from my R12.
