Aurora R11, AWCC stopped working again
The new Alienware Command Center Application is Version 5.5.51.0, A00 Release date 29 Aug 2023. The Driver download page states: If you face download or installation issues, download the Alienware Command Center Application - Full Installer to download the Alienware Command Center Application
BUT, the only full installer is dated 04 Nov 2022. Can anyone point me to the new full version?
I have tried to block communication between Dell and My R11, but launching AWCC just re-enables the link to Dell.
I have removed all other software Dell had on the Aurora R11 as it all kept breaking and had to be removed and reinstalled approx. ever 4 -5 weeks, So I finally just removed it all. I had to keep AWCC as there is no other way to have the cooling fans function. I just want the Aurora R11 to function with out having to spend over 2 hours installing just one update.
My last PC ran for 10 years before it had a a motherboard failure I could not fix. So I got this Aurora R11. Which is now 3 years old and I have had more issues with the DELL software that I would have thought possible.

I only use the AWCC to make the colors on my R9 red. Sure enough, the latest release says I don't have an Alienware computer, and I'm stuck on basic blue. How can the AWCC software not know what brand of computer it is installed on?
The same thing happened about two and a half years ago. The brains at Dell told me to reinstall Windows...when I stopped laughing, I just waited and about 2 months later a new AWCC update came out and all was well again.
I suggest all customers just wait until Dell fixes their mess again. I have resigned myself to looking at blue for the next few months.
I tried using the old full install and the previous working version, but they keep automatically updating to the new broken version, so patience is currently a virtue.

I also updated without issue . . . and I also only use AWCC for exterior lighting control.

@ProfessorW00d Most interesting, seems about 50/50 if it's going to work.
I've wasted too much time thinking about this...it is a pretty shade of blue after all...

@Doghouse Reilly That is very peculiar . . . I have never seen that error message myself. All my fans are 3-pin, so there is no AWCC control, but I do use it for the exterior lighting.

@ProfessorW00d Since the exact same thing happened a few years ago and Dell eventually corrected the problem, I see nothing to do but wait for the same course of events to occur again.
Still seems bizarre to me that a Alienware program doesn't recognize being on a Alienware computer. If I could set the colors manually as I do on my Alienware monitor; we would not be having this discussion.

@Doghouse Reilly Two more post of AWCC not working...so we're up to 4 broken, 2 OK...the odds don't look so good.
I'm starting to miss my red...

@Doghouse Reilly Yes . . . I can see how red would be a very nice choice.

I found a new full install on the driver site for my Alienware AW3420DW, dated 29 Aug 2023, Ver. 5.5.51.0, A00
https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=8cnv5&oscode=wt64a&productcode=dell-aw3420dw-monitor
Uninstalled the latest from the R9 site, installed this program, and... nothing, works or should I say doesn't work the same as the latest update. So, I'm back to waiting until Dell figures out what they did again to AWCC and corrects the problem like they did several years ago.

AWCC is worse than McAfee or Norton by the sounds of it...

@Vanadiel I think the phrase is "Jack of all trades, master of none".
Dell uses this program for too many things and some of them seemingly outside of Windows, such as overclocking the CPU. Some things are apparently best left to the BIOS.
Since this is exactly what happened a few years ago, I hope whoever fixed it then is still working for Dell and can fix it again. It is aggravating that it worked fine for about the last two years and is now broken again after this update.

@Doghouse Reilly what kind of update broke it; AWCC update or BIOS update? Regardless, can't you work backwards until you find a working combination of BIOS & AWCC?
