Aurora R11, AWCC.Background.Server high power usage
Okay I had this same issue with my R9, still do and with this new R11 it's at high power usage at start up. I can let it run forever until I go into AWCC and click the FX tab. If I don't do that the CPU will stay @ 5.1-5.3GHz and only when I click the FX tab it will go into idle stage 1.3-2.3 or so GHz. It not really a problem but kinda is if I don't remember to go into AWCC and so it will recognize my AW keyboard, headphone, and monitor and probably the R11. I have installed all the drivers for all just like I did wioth the R9. It's annoying to say the least.
Any clue why it does this? I know I can't be the only one. Try restart your Alienware computer and while it's booting up go to task manager and watch the AWCC.Background.Server and let me know if it's doing it to you. I attached a few screen shots.

I do not have that issue. My CPU usage goes down to 0-1% after about a minute or so.
During that time many background tasks are running and finishing up their various tasks.
I attached the information, with AWCC closed and never opened.
I circled the relevant information in a red box.

Type "add or remove programs" in the bottom left corner of your screen, scroll down to and single click Alienware Command Center. A number should show up, to the left of the install date, that is the version.

Okay I check the version and it’s the latest one. I just get it. I let it boot up for 30 mins and the cpu stayed at 5.0-5.3ghz and only when I click the FX tab it starts to idle normally. Very weird that my R9 does the same thing and I have updated just about everything to do with AWCC and AW peripherals.

Ok well if anybody searches this topic in the future and the cure is to uninstall and reinstall AWCC that's not the case. If you have the cpu overclocked enabled in AWCC, the cpu will be High usage until you click the FX tab.
I disabled my AWCC overclock1, restarted and let boot up for about 15 mins. then opened up Task Manager and no longer do I see the AWCC.Background.Server @ very high usage and idling as normal.
It's not always about uninstall and reinstall the programs. I kinda hate when someone tells me to do that. Anyways I hope it helps someone one day.

On my R10 I have no overclocking tabs, they don't even show up under AWCC. Only the tab for the GPU shows up, but I use Afterburner for anything GPU related.
Good find, glad you got it resolved and hopefully it helps others in the future.

Yes I have been using msi/ab. I have been testing this new unit and actually runs really well in all areas in balanced mode with no cpu overclock1 or 2 factory set. The 3090 factory OC runs at 1920 MHz and sits around 72c Not Bad for playing DCS and VR HP G2

3090, the big boy. Looks like you spared to expense to get that performance you always wanted.
Have fun with that machine, a 3090 is virtually impossible to get right now. You be the envy of your neighborhood.
Just keep an eye on the Tjunction temp and hotspot temp of that card, and ensure it is within acceptable parameters. I use the sensors from GPU-Z for that as it provides max values and logging over time options.
GPU-Z and CPU-Z are utilities every computer owner should have and use once in a while to verify their system is working within specs.

I have this same issue. Clicking the FX tab usually works but not always
