Aurora R11, fan tests, D0501 failure

Alienware Aurora R11

Alienware Aurora R11

Hi all,  my Aurora R11 is  just under 2 years old and out of warranty.  When I run the hardware scan in the SupportAssist Tool I an getting the following =

Error Code list
Fans - Functional Tests - D0501

I get this error only when using the Smooth line settings for Thermal Profiles in Fusion. If I use the "Auto managed" Thermal Profile I get no error. So is this just the SupportAssist Tool being picky and throwing a error code if the Thermal Profile is not Auto managed? I was able to get a find the Dell part number for an Aurora R11 Fan DVH85 - ASSY,FAN,80X25MM,12V,D10

But unsure which fan it is Top, Bottom, or are they the same part?

Any help or info you can provide is most appreciated.

Thank you  for the response and info on the fans.

After several tests I am convinced that the existing fans are fine.

I get no error only when using the "Auto managed" Thermal Profiles in Fusion. If I use any other Fusion Thermal Profile I get the error.

Appears that the Hardware scan does not override the Fusion Thermal profiles, and reports the error since  it cannot fully control the fans.

IMHO this is a bug in the SupportAssist tool.
