Aurora R11, front fan replacement

Hi everyone -

Great to be back in the gaming PC scene again.  I've recently purchased an Aurora R11 with RTX 3080, 32GB RAM, 1TB NVMe.  I've decided to replace the front and top fans with the Corsair ML 120 after reading about issues with Noctua fans and BIOS.

I went to replace the front fan (easy to remove) and found that there aren't any threaded mount points since the fan is a clip in.  Are folks drilling into the case to mount front fans?

Thanks for any pointers!

You can use zip ties, rubber or machine screws, or a combo of all the above.  And Y split with another pwm header with the lowest load, just don't put more than 2 fans on one header

What noctua fan is that also would this noctua fan work with it

also if I wanted to upgrade my radiator which model would I use if I wanted to upgrade preferably I’d like the exact model/link or the size I would need while keeping the own pump. As I’m kinda new still to upgrading/building computers so I don’t know all the specs or what would be compatible or not

@Spencer12219

Don't get that fan, it's an industrial noisy fan.

I used this:

Upgrades so far:

  • Memory Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3200
  • HDD 4 TB WD Blue
  • Front Fan Noctua nf-a12x15-pwm-chromax-black-swap
  • GPU EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 ULTRA GAMING
  • SSD 1 TB Sandisk
  • Upper Front Fan Noctua NF A12x25 PWM

But it depends, some use ML 120 Pros non RGB/LED some use Noctuas NF A12x15/25 PWM, what Aurora do you have?

But master, these are the only memories I have left of my high-thermal days

Then @Anonymous replied earlier in this thread on the first page

As did the OP, seems ML 120 Pro non RGB/LED is your best chance, just do not get them in a 2-pack.

Thanks I will just to clarify if I bought the h80i aio along with upgrading the fan to the industrial fan it would work. Also I want to upgrade all fans in the system to that industrial fan so the front fan aswell as an intake fan on the top aswell as the industrial fan in the liquid cooler. Please note I did buy the prebuilt liquid cooled r11

Quick question though would the rad fan in the r11 and h80 aio would I need a three pin or 4 pin connector

I have been taking a close look at the side panel of my R10, since I was swapping the memory modules out.

I noticed it is double walled, and just going by eye, it looks to me like you could stick a few 120 or even 140 mm fans in there if you take the inside part off and put it all back together.

There's even a handy square slotted channel near the bottom to run the wires in.

I am tempted to try it, but it looks like it will need 20 mm high fans instead of the regular 25 mm high fans.

I can see options here, and 2 fans form the side intake blowing fresh air in would be a nice upgrade.

Anybody know how to recalibrate the command center software? Installed a Corsair 120 pro and if I set to 100% in command center it only increases to about 60%. I don’t know if it’s only running at 50% or showing 50%.
Cheers
