Aurora R11, front fan replacement
Hi everyone -
Great to be back in the gaming PC scene again. I've recently purchased an Aurora R11 with RTX 3080, 32GB RAM, 1TB NVMe. I've decided to replace the front and top fans with the Corsair ML 120 after reading about issues with Noctua fans and BIOS.
I went to replace the front fan (easy to remove) and found that there aren't any threaded mount points since the fan is a clip in. Are folks drilling into the case to mount front fans?
Thanks for any pointers!

A little late to the party, but I recently completed the fan replacement with 4 Noctua fans and it's been working great. No BIOs errors either. I documented the replacements in the video below, if it will help anyone else.

The Noctua NF-A12x25 fans have always worked well on the Aurora R10 Ryzen Edition without throwing the diagnostic startup error. For the Aurora R11 . . . not so much. The ML120 Pro was the go-to fan for R11 owners, but that has recently been discontinued by Corsair.

interesting, the R10 and R11 fan replacement threads togehter have over 30.000 clicks... and there are even more smaller threads about the issue

@ProfessorW00d Has any fan stepped up to fill in the void that the ML120 Pro has left for R11s?

@user_0f333a None that I am specifically aware. Perhaps an Aurora R11 owner will chime in. Of course compatibility is potentially subject to change at any BIOS update. If I were going to test a new fan I would try the Phanteks T30 If you are using it for lower front intake fan you would probably lose the OEM mounting bracket because the T30 is 30mm thick.

@user_0f333a Just in case you or anyone else is here looking to replace the fan as I was, since the original Delta fan developed a terrible squeaking noise and the ML120 Pro is impossible to find now...the Arctic P12 PWM PST fan works without the BIOS error and is readily available as of May 2024.
