Aurora R11, Liquid Cooling Pump Monitoring?

Howdy Folks,

Haven't been here for awhile, but these forums seem more active than Alienware Arena, so I thought I would throw my question this way :-).

I just upgraded from a Liquid Cooled Aurora R7 which used the older non UWP version of Alienware Command Center.  In Command Center there was a Tab for the thermal controls that showed the cooling pump status and temps.   You could even have the Task Tray icon report on temps and pump status, allowing you to just hover over the icon, and see the values.  Is there something similar for the new version of Command Center?  Otherwise how are you supposed to know if your liquid cooling pump was working?  Thanks!

Yeah, AWCC app evolves over time Sometimes less sometimes more.

Make sure you have the latest version installed from Microsoft store, 2 applications, AWCC and Components.

If you want pump status, install HWINFO, although it is tedious to scroll each time to monitor and check the pump (CPU on R8).

Howdy markburv,

Thanks for taking the time to reply!  I have downloaded HWINFO, the portable version, and am using the 65-bit executable.  However, I can't find the section that matches your screen shot.  I have checked both the "info" sections and the "Sensors" option, and can't find it anywhere.  What part of the app shows the fans and speeds?  Thanks a million in advance!

Yeah, we have to be patient for a moderator to allow pics sometimes, you can log out and see that yours also has to wait

You probably need to click on the sensors cog wheel to activate lots of things

Hi markburv,

There is a section that is marked as "Intel PCH" which is blank (attached picuture), but nowhere in the list are fans or the speeds.  I do see temps with the CPU sections, but no fans?

BTW, your picture didn't show up in the post.  Appreciate the help!

Check in the program settings and check "EC Support" under the safty tab. They are embedded controllers. That may work with the "Fans" selected in the Sensor cog settings in the "General" tab.

On your screen I see the title for "Alienware MB ID", that is the place where they should be, here are some photos of what I mean.

Program --> Settings --> Safety --> EC Support ticked

Cog --> General --> Fans ticked

I just clicked on "Reset Preferences" in the Program Settings to put it back to how it was, now when I start HWINFO I get this box.

I checked the box and clicked Continue to not have this warning, if I clicked "Do not monitor" I would not see MB Fans.

Do you get this message?

Howdy markburv,

My screens (minus the dark mode) look a little different from yours.  I am running the portable version, which does not need to be installed (no setup program), and it doesn't save any settings outside of the program folder.  I do have the analogous settings you mentioned EC checked, and the Fans option selected.  However, I do not have a menu bar with "Programs" on it, nor do I see a way to display one.  I am attaching a screen shot to show you what I see.
