Aurora R11, RTX 3090, GPU PCIe slot speed?

Will the GPU PCIe slot run at x8 or x16 speed? If it’s still running at x8, surely that will bottleneck the GPU?

Curious here about this as well. I saw mb’s with a variety of configurations as far as x16  and x8  are concerned.

It is pcie 3.0 @ x8.

It's been like this for at least the last 5 iterations of Aurora.

Thanks. Is this for the R11 with the RTX 3090 on the US site? I was considering this with the RTX 3090. But x8 will most probably bottleneck the GPU. Think I’ll give this a miss.

PCI-E  2.0   X16 = PCI-E   3.0  X8

PCIe Generation Bandwidth
PCIe Gen 1                   x16   8 Gbps
PCIe Gen 2                   x16   16 Gbps
PCIe Gen 3                   x16   32 Gbps

Intel and Nvidia have been slow in adapting to PCIe gen 4.0 but AMD processors and GPUs already support the latest PCIe 4.0 standard. Intel’s upcoming 11th Generation Rocket Lake CPUs and Nvidia’s upcoming GPUs based on Ampere architecture will support PCIe 4.0 standard.

Also, Intel 10th gen, the cpus used in the r11, do not support pcie 4.0.  So even if the z490 chipset and gpu are 4.0, you're limited to 3.0.

All R11s are x8 max, regardless of where purchased.  On paper it's huge but real world difference shouldn't be significant from x16 for gaming though.
