Aurora R12, GPU, memory choices?
Hello, first time posting, it’s been about 10 years since I owned a Dell and I’ve decided to get a new Alienware Aurora R12 very soon. I’m trying to decide between the NVIDIA RTX 3080Ti 12GB and the AMD RX 6900 XT 16GB, the 64GB 2933mhz and the 64GB 3466mhz RAM, and the 2TB SSD and the dual 1TB SSD and 1TB SATA. I’m pretty sure I want to go with the NVIDIA GPU, but I’m not sure if the extra $100 for the 3466mhz RAM is worth it? Would the 2TB SSD be better than the dual drives for gaming, I plan to mostly just play From Software games with it, Elden Ring, Sekiro, and Dark Souls on my 120hz 4K HDR LG C1 55” OLED TV. I would like to be able to max out all the settings if possible and will most likely get a nice monitor later so I don’t mind overkill if that would be the case. Also, I noticed that the 3466mhz RAM can only go up to 64GB, whereas the 2933mhz can go up to 128GB, is that just because 128GB in 3466mhz isn’t an option for that PC, would I be able to upgrade that myself later? Sorry if my questions seems stupid, obviously the better stuff would be best, but would the difference be negligible with certain things? I’ve had a computer since I was like 5 with an Apple IIc, but I’ve never really messed with the hardware, so I’m not really sure what my money would be best spent on.

Might be an old-school way of looking at it, but if you are building an Intel machine (with Intel chipset MotherBoard) I would go with a Nvidia GPU. Just don't Over-Clock, Over-Power, or Over-Heat GPU or you might damage/weaken it.
Big power-supply, Liquid-Cooler, and of course ... 1tb NVMe OS/System-drive should be fine. Other drives can be NVMe-SSD or 2.5inch SATA-SSD. NO spinning-HDD should be installed. You can get more drives later.
I suggest you get your ram now (pre-installed). 32gb ram should be fine (and fine for many years with Windows-11 Pro 64bit). 64gb would be over-kill. Exactly matched pairs of DIMMs run in faster Dual-Channel mode. As you approach max-system memory-limit, it runs slower. You would not get 128gb ram in a gaming machine anyway. Precision Workstation maybe, but with that much, I think it should be Registered ECC-Memory.
Even with G-Sync, your TV should be fine as long as it does max/native res at 60Hz.
Yeah, I started with an Amiga ... good times.

So would it be better for gaming to get Windows Pro, I was just going to get the Home version?

It looks like I was confusing the SATA for an HDD but it’s an SSD? I’m just going with the options available on the models that have the 17% discount.

I understand why they do it, but I don't buy Operating Systems with stuff stripped-out of them.

I like how Apple does it ... just the one OS for all Macs.
Can't really help with things on sale. To me, these computers are already expensive, so I just buy it configured the best way and the way I like it. To me, that's the whole point of buying a custom-configured Dell or Alienware computer.
