Aurora R12, help with upgrading PSU
Alienware Aurora R12
So I'll try to keep this brief. I'm looking to upgrade an Aurora R12, starting with the PSU. I've done some research myself but nobody seems to give anything too concrete on which PSU would be compatible with the system due to it using specific sizes. I'm told that the recommended part has the numbers "0WTGN" and that "D1000EGM-00" is the PSU used, but unless I'm missing something I'm having trouble finding a PSU that really matches these.
My searches primarily lead me to the Corsair RM1000x, but nobody can 100% tell me if that'll work, so I'm going to ask here and see if anyone else has experience.
Thanks to everyone who reads this.

Yeah I was thinking of just going for 32GB RAM and a 1000w PSU and then basically stopping the upgrades because at that point you eventually hit the GPU upgrade and that's pretty costly.

3060 Ti draws around 220 Watts maximum, so with a 550W PSU you should be fine. A 1000 Watt is overkill for your setup and actually not the best idea as it will be underloaded.. If you absolutely want to upgrade I would go with a 750 watt.

You will be ready for the 4xxx series graphics cards . . . or, when the 4xxx series is released, prices on the Ampere graphics cards should drop.

Yes, but it depends on system configuration. If you look at Nvidia's web site the small lettering states that.
If Dell sold it with a 550 Watt PSU it will be enough as they validate their builds. Also not all PSU's are the same, and you also have to ensure you do not go overboard with the wattage as you will end up with an underloaded PSU which will cause efficiency loss.
So unless you are planning on upgrading the GPU at some point, I would leave the PSU as is as you are not going to gain anything from upgrading it.

Nvidia actually suggests a 600w PSU for it, though.
That said I concede that people on the Internet are kinda 50/50 on this.

The relevant specs are the processor (11th gen intel i7-11700F), 16 RAM, 3060 Ti, and 550 PSU, so if the PSU's not worth upgrading then I guess I should just look into getting that RAM to 32 GB.

I've done some research on the RAM, mostly reading threads, reviews, and watching videos. Crucial is apparently the way to go, but I was putting finalizing a purchase until I took care of the PSU since it seemed more pertinent.
