Aurora R12, ram error when enabling XMP with 4 ram sticks
I recently bought two more ram sticks for my system. It seems that turning on XMP causes the system to infinitely reboot and giving me four yellow flashes (which I assume means ram error). The system runs fine with it disabled so I was wondering if there is a way to fix this so I don't just leave free performance on the board?

4 x 8 is not a validated configuration for the R12. That might be an issue.
Only 2 x 16 is validated for 3200 or 3400 XMP.

Are all 4 sticks from the same manufacturer and the same part #?

So you bought all 4 at the same time or got them directly from Dell? I didn't mention what size, or what speed

PreformedTooth,
Dell shipped this Aurora R12 with two 8GB sticks =
W21KG 8GB HyperX Fury XMP DDR4, 3200MHz, Unbuffered, 288 pin, Single Rank, 1.25V, Non-ECC, Kingston XW21KG-HYD2, XW21KG-MIE, XW21KG-MIE2
Are you saying that you bought two more W21KG from Dell?

yeah, I guess this would be the issue. But why have 4 slots if you can't really use them?

You can use all 4, but only with the validated memory configuration.
The validated configurations are:

Hi, how do I buy this identical RAM from DELL?
When KINGSTON TECHNOLOGY wrote to me that it did not recommend HyperX Fury or Fury Beast

This topic comes up so much there really should be a sticky. Dell OEM HyperX is not the same as aftermarket HyperX. Different timings, voltage and XMP profiles. Dell does not sell their HyperX outside of computer purchase. You have to get all that you want at the time of purchase or find someone selling their Dell HyperX because they bought all new ram.

Re: how do I buy this identical RAM from DELL?
this is your Dell oem ram DP/N W21KG
it almost matches Dell Chris M sent Kingston XW21KG-HYD2. Dell price is
you can use the DP/N to order from Dell directly (chat with Dell live agent on line and asks them to email you a real picture and hope the sticker info is legible).
you can also try to look for it on ebay (use the XW21KG-HYD2, XW21KG-MIE, XW21KG-MIE2 as search keyword) or other third party vendor. make sure seller sends an exact picture of memory before you order.
for example this seller says "Parts for Dell | 8GB HyperX Fury XMP DDR4, 3200MHz, 1Gx64, Unbuffered, 288 pin, Single Rank, 1.25V, Non-ECC | W21KG"
they do not always tell you where their inventory source is (some eBay seller may say it is from Alienware). this ebay seller's pic is best match of your ram

sample pic of Kingston XW21KG-MIE, XW21KG-MIE2 sold on ebay recently
it is not clear whether it would work to mix one Dell ram with another of same DP/N (W21KG) but different maker model number (e.g., MIE with MIE2 or with HYD/HYD2). to be safe buy exactly the same model number.
both the MIE2 and HYD are validated by users to run as 4x8 GB in Alienware R12.
one can presume that the MIE, MIE2, HYD as shown in sample pictures are all Dell oem ram. I can not yet find a real pic of HYD2 that Chris M mentioned, but having three validated maker model number is good already.
