Aurora R13, Applications not working
I'm curious to know if anyone else has problems with apps on their Alienware? I've had mine since February and this has given me nothing but problems. It's seeming like a waste of $2700. I'll download an application, like Ultimaker Cura for my 3d Printer and it'll work for about 2 hours before it decides it doesn't want to load anymore. The same happens with Windows Explorer (The application that runs Windows). It'll work fine for a few hours and then stop. Can't Search for anything, can't use the Toolbar, can't even restart the computer without pressing the button and Hard Shut Down the Computer. There are plenty of other applications like this that give me the same problem. I've refreshed my computer, re-installed Windows, re-installed applications for the same things to be happening. I've gotten to the point that it's about to be one with the dumpster and cut my losses on this overpriced paperweight that plays 1-2 games without a hitch. There is almost no point in having more than one hard-drive if nothing but pictures and videos can be stored on them. For that, I would've bought an Apple.
Any help would be appreciated.

What are your system specs (CPU, graphics card, RAM, PSU, cooling solution)?
Which version of Windows are you running? Windows Explorer does not "RUN Windows". The Windows operating system runs the executable file named "Windows Explorer" . . . and all other executable programs. You might consider a fresh install of Windows.

In My Alienware, run the hardware scan. Next check ram using windows. Search for memory diagnostic and click on the app. Depending on ram size, will take 1/2 or so. Once computer restarts and it boots to windows it should be good. If you want to check diagnostic log to confirm: rt click windows start, click event viewer, on left pane click windows log, click system, click find, type memorydiagnostic, close out search box and log is in the lower pane. Log will tell you if ram is ok. Sometimes these strange things can be ram, recent windows update, components plugged into usb ports, recent software/hardware installs, antivirus software, etc.
Call Dell support for remote log in.
