Aurora R13, AU doesn't detect already installed updates

Alienware Aurora R13, Windows 11. I installed 3 updates. Two of them are still showing up as installed. Of these two, the only one that is actually bothering me is the BIOS update due to the fact that BIOS updates involves chip flashing and I would like to do that as little as possible. It is for BIOS version 1.13.0, and according to the link, released June 13, 2023. I installed this BIOS, and then when I checked to see if there were any more updates, the BIOS update is still there. I then checked the System Information in Windows, and it shows the BIOS version as 1.13.0, but the date is April 12, 2023, instead of the one listed as the release date on the update page.

I didn't receive any errors or anything, so I don't know why this would be the case. (Except that this is Dell we're talking about.)

Advice?

I own an R13 which replaced an R7 and gave up on the Alienware Updater a long time ago, as well as the slow your PC down with our Support Assistant. As you say it misses drivers and has also in the past wanted me to install drivers for things i don't have in my PC.

The date shown on the website for drivers is the the date it was published there and not the date of the actual driver itself. For BIOS updates if your happy with the BIOS you have got, there is no need to update. BIOS updates are generally security updates for PC's running on a network and not stand alone PC's.

If I am not mistaken, system information shows the firmware version.

Not each BIOS update will be accompanied with a new firmware version.

If you enter the BIOS during POST, you should be able to see the BIOS version properly.

Wait! you can accept more than one solution! My mind is blown!

I entered the BIOS and verified the BIOS version is current version. There is no date given in the BIOS, so I guess I will just chalk this another bad Dell support app.

Since both replies helped me, I will have to choose between which to mark as a solution. As Iain doesn't have a fancy shmancy "Dell Community Rockstar" banner, I'll give it to them! Maybe they'll get a banner too someday!
