@Lavender80

PSU is totally proprietary size and form factor specific to this model.

There are ZERO 1000W options. No help for this as it does not exist.

As Speedstep noted the R13 and R14 use a proprietary size and form factor. It’s not an ATX size so finding a PSU to fit inside the R13/R14 is next to impossible.

Not only the size, which shouldn't be toooo much a problem, but the connections to the motherboard aren't standard either.  Proprietary.

Check out this post--https://www.dell.com/community/Alienware-Desktops/Aurora-R9-Adventures-with-power-supplies/m-p/7720150#M34145

Of course you can upgrade your power supply, but it's not going to be easy due to Alienware's proprietary cable system and limited working space.  As explained in the attached post; upgrading Alienware computers is not for the faint of heart...and you need to know what you are doing.

Man, that's unfortunate . I got a 3090 and 5950x and my games sometimes crash. Im only assuming its due to the power supply because I read those two devices can use up a lot of power.

You can use msi afterburner and monitor the power being used by the CPU and GPU at the same time.  The default TDP for the 5950x is 105w and the 3090 uses 350w.

Are you sure you don't want to go-ahead and just replace the case also?

Corsair makes the RM1000x. If it fits, maybe www.moddiy.com makes something to help connect it. Just remember to only use the modular cables that come with the new PS you buy.  Corsair and SeaSonic are both good brands.

@Tesla1856

neither moddiy or any other vendor makes an adapter for this so its a non starter.

The motherboard has the front I/O on a non standard size as an extension to the motherboard PCB to the front of the dell case.  There is no standard equivalent for this board.

The physical size is tiny so fitting standard EPS12v power supply is not happening inside the case.

even TFX is too large.

There is an adapter you can buy from Corsair.

Can you update this list now that you can get a 1000w psu in the R13?

That Corsair cord does not work. Purchased and tried and the 10 pin plug does not fit the header. Like two of the square sleeves are in a different location.

The proprietary 1000w PSU options are 43YPM Acbel, R61D8 Liteon, RD0G0 Delta.  However, Dell customer service make it extremely hard to buy outright as a stand alone part  I’ve been going around in circles with them for weeks.  Last I was told, was to call back after May 1st.   It should not be this difficult and the 750W PSU is in no way sufficient for my 3090/I9 R13 that peaks into the 800’s.

per @DELL-Chris M

The Aurora R13/R14 parts page for the 1000W

PSU (43YPM Acbel, R61D8 Liteon, RD0G0 Delta) state "For sale = No".
