Aurora R15 coming
Alienware Aurora R13
today Dell released an update to awcc and in the
patch notes it states: "Supports Alienware Aurora R15 system."
Nvidia announced it will be hosting an event on September 20th for the release of the RTX 4000 series, I hope the aurora will use it.

I would wait for reviews before dropping a bunch of money on it.
I am thinking there will be a "design decision" made that will not be popular with the more advanced users.
It will likely be a good time to get an R13/R14 when they go on sale with a nice discount.

I burned a candle in the hopes that the next Aurora release uses a retail board with customized BIOS.

I was hoping the new release would be an Area51 R8.

The R15 will be the usual Dell product. Heralded as the fastest, fully upgradeable PC you simply have to buy, but with the usual non-retail board, a locked BIOS and many parts that are not upgradeable covered by the Spec Sheet hidden 3 pages downwards in the advertising.
At best my guess is it will support XMP memory but being Dell it will be at a funny speed and they may do something about the CPU being throttled.
Approach with caution.

What the Aurora series really needs is . . . more plastic.

I disagree. I think some strategically placed wood could be just as nice, and is environmentally friendly.

I’ve learn to let the advance people check everything out in detail before I purchase another Alienware. They are so sneaky. The R13 with no xmp is just not right. And also what they did to the 12900K ! And also the new AW 34”monitor issue. I’ve learn a great deal to be patient now.

My 5800x PC is on its way out, but Dell already burned my bridge with the R13.

In general, a good rule of thumb is to research before you purchase anything. That goes for anything.

How would they control the fans and lights?
I can't see them giving that up or moving it back to a dedicated daughterboard. It's like their USP.

Does Intel even have an Desktop Enthusiasts Platform processor and/or chipset any more? I thought on the desktop, it was just mainstream and server now-days.
As you know, you can get the Intel-i9 in both the Aurora and the XPS.

Same way as I control them with my ASUS ROG B550 gaming board. Controls 4 case fans and 2 CPU fans, allows any 4 PIN PWM fan and comes with a tuning function for each fan header so you can control the fan speeds in minute detail.
It has RGB headers and I have a separate controller for my Lian Li Streamer cables that came with the cables. Yes, I have RGB cables, lol.
I can also see all fan speeds in my BIOS, complete with graphical speed representation and ability to set alarms points if needed. I can even give them a name so I know what is what. I can even give each of my drives a name.
I could go on for a while about the benefits of a retail board versus what Alienware uses.
