Aurora R16, AIO upgrade?

Alienware Aurora R16

Alienware Aurora R16

As the title suggests, I'd like to upgrade my cooler for my CPU. The stock cooler isn't performing well enough. I contacted DELL to be told this isn't possible. Anyone know of a solution?

stock AIO is made by Asetek which makes a lot of 240 mm AIO for other oem.

do you think there is a 240 mm AIO outthere that outperforms the Asetek one by significant margin?  if yes, is there a benchmark proof out there already?

or perhaps a 360 AIO is what is really needed?

@redxps630

no my friend, I don’t have one at all. Just a poor performing fan. I was hoping someone would point me in the direction to buy the AIO you’ve just mentioned. Since dell refuse to help

If you want a 240 AIO Alienware I recommend eBay, otherwise you won't get to it. I also wanted to buy one AIO directly from DELL and as usual it didn't work out. I don't know if it will be possible to mount another model [MSI, ASUS, AORUS] 240 AIO because the Alienware 240 AIO has a specific attachment. But I would rather install another AIO brand that has a display on the CPU cooler and it will look better!

@Real_Boy85 Do you have a link for that? I'm UK based which may hinder shipping. But thank you, you're amazing. Glad there's a solution

I did not realize OP stock cooler is not already Dell oem AIO.  Did I misunderstand the question?

is the current cooler a basic heat sink with fan?

HTSNK, COOLER, 65W, D12MTX

THRM, HTSNK, 65W, AIR, ROT/TRA
HTSNK, CPU, 125W, 240, LC, SF

THRM, 240W, LC, SF, R15, I

HTSNK, CPU, 125W, LED, LC, CT

Lunar Light 750W PSU, Alienware Cryo-tech (TM) Edition CPU Liquid Cooling & Clear Side Panel
92KFV

the 1st cooler option is basic air heatsink

the 2nd is standard liquid cooler without cryotech LED, the tubes are not sleeved

the 3rd is cryotech led, sleeved tubes.  It makes sense to have it w clear view side panel to show off the bling. If solid panel then led does not show

As the title suggests. I just want to purchase a liquid cooler to rectify the mistake I made when ordering. I don't want anything for free, I am willing to pay. But the tech team are sending me on the run about, going in circles with a constant no no no. I am getting increasingly angry and annoyed. Someone sell me a OEM liquid cooler. I can't even buy one off Ebay because I'm in the UK and no one ships here apparently.

Hi, guys I recently acquired a r16 i have a 240 AIO from my old r13 collecting dust.

I installed that AIO on the R16 but i get and error when i startup now saying “I have an unsupported CPU in your system”.

Please restore to the original system condition of 65W CPU.

Any help will be appreciated.

@Vanadiel No sir.
I found the problem. it has to do with the original AIO, I plugged back in without removing the Deepcool 240AIO and it booted up just fine.
