Done some digging over the weekend and seems that dimension wise the RTX 2080 have the optimum lay out with virtually the same size as my GTX 970 - just 4 mm out on height but assume that is not an issue. Looking at the Asus GeForce RTX 2080 DUAL-O8G. Would this technically work in my machine and would I be able to benefit from the upgrade?

Once Power supply issues are resolved and SECURE BOOT is OFF and Legacy Option Roms ON then any physically fitting card should work fine.
Stock 460W unit is too small for anything higher than GTX 1060.

If you got the optional Dell OEM 850w PS, it should be fine.
There are some threads here if you search. Aurora R5-R8 is all the same in this regard.

Liquid-Cooler on system's CPU will help whole machine stay cool.
Cool air for video card comes in through the lower-front, and is controllable in AW-CC. I like to use a up-hill Manual-Curve.
