Aurora R6, update keeps telling me it's updated my system

Every time I boot up, after a short while, I get a status message in the notification area from Alienware Update. All it says is "The system has been updated." with an "OK" button to click. Every. Time. This has been happening about a month now. I know it's not applying an update every day, and it just bugs me to boot up, go into a game, and then have that pop up over the game every time.

The Alienware Update program doesn't have many options. Just one command to check for updates. Even though it won't find any updates, if I reboot, it'll tell me it updated my system. It's version 3.1 of the program. It gives my service tag and says the "Last Check" was on 8/30/2019, and the last update was on 12/23/2019.

Any suggestions to how to get this working like an update program should work?

This is also happening to me so you are not along, can someone from Dell explain why the update program is acting like this?

Two options:

1.  type in "notifications" in the task bar (bottom left of desktop screen).  Then, slide off notifications from "SupportAssist".  If you also have one for alienware update, you can turn that off too.

2. type in "supportassist" in the task bar (bottom left of desktop screen, same box), and then under profile, privacy, uncheck the box for allowing auto updates (if you want, you can also uncheck the box authorizing Dell to collect and store your personal usage information including on servers located outside this country - box below it.
