Aurora R6, upgrades, front fan F1 issue

I have really enjoyed the great information shared here, and have been collecting parts here and there to complete some upgrades. I swapped out the 460 psu with an EVGA G3 850. I also added some stock ram to fill the slots. I upgraded the stock CPU air cooler to the stock liquid cooler with VRM heatsink. I used an ML120 Pro led for the top sandwich. I moved the 2nd HD to the top front bay and took out the bottom trays. Last I installed a Noctua 12x15 fan in the front fan position.

Now to my question.....Is replacing the front fan triggering the F1 front fan failure note expected? Everything else works great and I have the room I needed and cooler temps for the GPU upgrade!

P.S. I bought 2 ML120 Pro Blues. One was for the front fan if I didn’t need the slim for a shorter GPU. Sadly a cute customer decided to return their old one to Amazon who hence shipped it to me. Shame shame. It will be returned tomorrow and hopefully destroyed.

Yes this was left open when I removed the stock air cooling system.

Also, what do you have in the bottom fan of the radiator, and are the top and bottom fans on the radiator connected with a y splitter.

If you're using an oem fan, then you should connect the lead end of the y splitter to the oem fan, and the 3 wire end to the corsair fan.

The slim front was plugged into the original front header. The Top fan sandwich is plugged into the Top fan header via Y and works great with no errors.

I have the stock air config fan on the bottom fan of the sandwich. It’s on a Y along with the ML120 Pro LED and both are working great with no errors.

Note, cpu fan should be empty, and the pump goes to the pump fan header.

I believe the corsair ml120 pro leds throw an error in the top fan position (at least they do in R7 to 9). Try swapping the front and top fan headers without moving the fans just for 1 boot to see of the error follows the move to top fan.  If so, then the slimline 15mm fan is at issue.  If not, how did you connect the other stuff?

I added back in a stock fan to a Y split on the front fan header with the slim fan I installed in the front fan location. It is just laying flat on the bottom of the case, but no more F1 error on boot. Looks like I’ll try the other ML120 pro led when I get it or just leave the stock fan in the bottom somewhere.
