Aurora R7, added SSD, BIOS configuration
My computer came with a physical HD. I installed an NVME Samsung SSD. It took about 20 seconds after bios booted up. My Lenovo only took 5 seconds to boot to Windows 10 after BIOS. Are there any configurations on the BIOS to boot Windows 10 when booting BIOS, instead of waiting for finishing booting BIOS then Windows 10.

That would be normal, as long as the drive perform normal under Windows 10. I would download a free program called CrystalDiskMark, and run a bench on the drive to ensure it is performing within it's specifications.

PC needs to complete POST (basic firmware test) before it hands over control to boot storage device to boot Windows. The firmware test stage is pre-boot. I do not think pc can boot OS before finishing POST from a cold start.

I just checked the bios that the boot option was set to legacy boot but changed to UEFI failed. UEFI should boot faster. I don't know if the physical 1 TB HD was set up as UEFI or Legacy.

Re: changed to UEFI failed
You need to reinstall OS in hdd after switching from legacy to uefi.

Some boards have a fast boot option you can enable/disable. I am not sure if the R7 has such an option.

It can be done without reinstalling the OS, but you need to follow these steps:
Convert Legacy to UEFI
I suggest a full backup prior to starting this process, to avoid data loss.

I think that 15 seconds include part of Windows 10 boot process. If you want to test this, remove all bootable storage device including ssd, then test for pure POST speed. If after you press power button within 5 sec it says no bootable device found, bingo. If that is true, each time Win10 loads itself can take widely different amt of time on the same machine on same day. I have seen this again n again. In this regard Win 10 is a lot worse than Win 7 pro which loads like a breeze on my mechanical hdd. I also discovered based on limited observation that Win 11 loads faster than Win 10 latest. Blame it on MS that made Win 10 insufferable in this regard. A redemption is that after you boot 15 sec of Win 10 then restart, often the 1st or 2nd restart of Win 10 is significantly faster than the first cold boot, another weird feature of Win 10 as if it were a sloppy forgetful secretary that takes long time to get his folders of documents together waking up in the morning to report to boss, but then becomes more efficient. do not expect this efficiency to last long though because even within 24 hr Win 10 may drop back to the slow boot if it begins to get disorganized and need more time again to boot into desktop.
