Hooking up to a lg oled 55e8 tv.
1. hdmi run through an onkyo rz 800
2. or hdmi direct to tv with coaxial to the onkyo for sound.
Going for the best 4k picture quality.
Thanks, John
1. Correct . The Onkyo-AVR is "in the middle" of whole system. Everything should connect to it directly.
Not only video, but HDMI can handle Multi-Channel PCM.
2. No. Why ?
- Coax/Optical SPDIF doesn't have the audio-bandwidth required.- This config doesn't support HDMI's LipSync and other features.
