Aurora-R7, heat issues?

I just purchased an Aurora R7 from Dell and had a question about CPU heat.

I have the i7-8700 (non k) and straight from the get-go it seems that it might have a heat issue? Idle it seems to be fine and around the 40c - 55c area but under some gaming stress it suddenly hits the mid 90's and the fan blows up and down. I was under the impression that around 80c is the zone for "getting a bit too hot" and 90's are the danger zone. Are the stock liquid coolers in these sort of bleh? could I be having an early issue?

Just looking for some insight.

Are you sure you got the Liquid-Cooler installed on yours?

A liquid-cooled Aurora-R7 should not allow Intel CPU (or its cores) to get above 75c.

Sounds like something is broken.

Well about an hour after I posted this I wondered the same thing.

Having it for about a week I never really checked, so I opened it and yeah... there's a stock FAN in there instead of the cooling I ordered. I'm guessing this is the problem. So I mailed in about it and they responded that the heat is a  "tech issue" and never said anything about how the wrong part was installed. So they directed me elsewhere, where i'm going to assume when I get a reply they'll say it's the OTHER GUY'S issue.

UGH. So yeah. The "liquid cooling" isn't there. I know I specifically checked to get it because I know the i7-8700 runs a bit hotter than normal. hope I don't have to dance around this for long.

Check your detail emailed Invoice, online order, and online "shipped config" for the optional Liquid-Cooler.

However, either way ... sounds like you might be destined to return it for a refund. Watch the time because I think the allowed period is only 2 weeks.

Ugh, everything I've seen claims I bought it with the fan. Which is def not what I ordered. I can't find the online order configuration anywhere though.

They gave me a # to call tomorrow. If there's problems I might just have to buy the cooler and install it myself. :-/ BOOOO.

I think it might even be too early to view the config of the order, but the invoice, packing slip, and "items in order" all indicate that I ordered 850W EPA Bronze PSU Air Cooled Chassis. Ugh. I'll be giving the call tomorrow just to see what my options are.

If I actually order the cooler I assume this is the one. http://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/aurora-liquid-cooling-kit/apd/412-aajj/pc-accessories

1. In Order Status, you can "drill down to" the config detail pieces. Also, at support.dell.com, by Service Tag, you should be able to see Shipped Config.

2. Let us know what you decide to do. If needed, I can give you the link to buy the OEM Liquid-Cooler online from Dell.

Yes, that is it.

Are you sure you are up to it? It's not a very easy job.
