Possible to move a Dell motherboard to another case.  However, keep in mind Dell motherboard mounting holes may not match standard ATX.  Enough holes to mount but probably not all.  Dell also tends to use proprietary and undocumented front panel connections on many models so something else to consider.  Another is fans, Dell uses proprietary fans and adapters are needed for the connections.  Finally, I haven't looked at the R7 but on most Dell's the rear motherboard I/O panel is part of the case, not a removeable insert like standard ATX.

So basically it would be easiest just to buy new mobo, psu, and case. I’m already at the point where I should’ve just built my own computer. -Replaced stock intel cooler w/ Corsair h55 water cooler. -Replaced 1050ti with rtx 2080 -Replaced stock front fan with Noctua fan -Replaced stock 8gb Ram with 32gb hyperfuryx Ram -Added 1tb 970 evo 1tb ssd Also anyone know why this things eats 7gb of Ram basically at idle? Did fresh install of windows onto the ssd and cleared hdd that it came with.

oem case is nice looking but isn’t very quiet when trying to keep things cool under full load. Also installed a new gpu and tried supporting it with this: https://www.amazon.com/upHere-Graphics-Anodized-Aerospace-Aluminum/dp/B076GYL25H/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?keywords=uphere+gpu+brace&qid=1558940481&s=gateway&sprefix=uphere+gpu&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

just to find out you can’t even screw it in.

XPS 8930 shares a similar chassis as the R5.  That motherboard was micro-ATX.  The motherboard mounting holes should be very similar since they share the same chassis.   Compare the spacing off the picture of the motherboard on the post and your motherboard in your user manual.

They both appear to be the same dimensions especially when you look at the spacing of the headers on the right side of the motherboard.

The mounting holes on the XPS 8930 are white circled:

One of the case swaps I did was into a Fractal Design Meshify mini.

Similar questions asked here as well and there are issues that need to be taken into account before starting a case swap
