Aurora R7, need help reinstalling this IMSA driver
Hey Guys,
IMSA = Intel Management and Security Application
I been on Google for 2 hours. I've just started getting this error like a week ago.
I have no idea how this file could have got removed. Intel Active Management Technology Local Manageability Service is failing a.k.a LMS.exe not running. (I dbl. checked in task Manger also). Keep getting these events in my viewer.
Things I've tried:
-sfc/ scannow - no issues
-Ran Intel driver & Support Assistant - All updated.
-Went to Dells support entered service tag. Did a search for Intel Management Drivers. Only one that comes up that is close is. Intel-Management-Engine-Components (I don't believe this will help this issue)
-Went to Intel's site did a search for Intel Active Management Technology Local Manageability Service. I couldn't narrow it down, or maybe entering in wrong keywords.
Anyone point me to what I need?
Thanks

After some more digging around I found a thread that broke down this whole service and some fixes and issues related to it. It mentioned that driver would reinstall these components. In my case it was a newer version. It was fixed by installing the new version in case anyone else comes across it. All good in the hood.

Are you connected to a Windows Domain or Server ? In this Windows-10 Pro 64-bit ?
I'll check my Aurora-R6 when I get back home.

Its just simple Windows 10 64 bit Home edition PC. Not connected to any Domain or Server.
I can just disable this I think (turn it from Automatic to Manual). The next Windows version / major update from Microsoft will mostly correct it, but "the Intel® Endpoint Management Assistant (Intel® EMA) tool lets IT remotely and securely manage devices, inside and outside the firewall, over the cloud."
No one is gong to be remoting in to my PC and vice versus. I checked Programs, and its something I don't believe I can uninstall either.

So, my Aurora-R1 does not have that Service. I think because it is a clean-install from Microsoft .ISO.
My Aurora-R6 DOES have this Service. I think because this machine is still running the Dell Windows-10 Factory load. There was never a reason to erase it (I just uninstalled the needless and/or trouble things).
It appears to be one of Dell's OEM-Modifications to the base Windows-10 for Alienware desktops. For whatever reason, they wanted it to be part of their Windows-10 Deployments.
On my Aurora-R6 Windows-10 Pro 64bit ... that Service is set to Automatic, but it is stopped and NOT Running.
Since it is not needed in your network environment, you can set it to either Manual or maybe Disabled.

I'm going to try that and leave it be. Wait for the next big update to correct it. I did run the DISM commands. It didn't find any issues. I do have a pending update. I read this also could be the cause, but that was only one forum.
