Aurora R7, upgrade to RTX 3070
Hi dell community,
I have purchased an rtx 3070 with dimensions of 10.5 inch so fitting is no issue however, I want to know what cable I will need to connect the oem 850w psu to the new rtx 3070 gpu. I think it would be a 6 pin to x2 (8) pin or an adaptor of some sort but I could be wrong. If anyone can provide guidance, that would be super.
Kind regards,
James

That graphics card will need two 8-pin (6+2) PCIe cables. Look up in the PSU swing-out contraption to see if you have 2 PCIe cables available. They should be connected to your PSU in ports labeled R1 thru R6 . . . with corresponding tags.
There could be one hanging out here

Check to see if the power supply comes with this type of cable. Most do, most have 2 of this type. You will be looking for the 6+2 PIN version.

While they might sell adaptors to go from 6 to 8 pin, I would not recommend using them at all.

What specific RTX 3070 graphics card did you get?

Since there is no particular wiring standard for modular power-supplies, you should get it from Dell Parts (since it's a Dell OEM PS). There is a nice list (with pics and part-numbers) here in the forum somewhere.
However, since you got the OEM 750w PS pre-installed, I'm a little surprised it didn't come with the modular cable(s) you need.
So, the Nvidia RTX-3070 needs PCIe-Power 8-pinner x2 ?

Very helpful, there are x2 8-pin (6+2) pcie cables available.
Thanks to everyone who supported my claim
