Aurora R8, i9-9900K, overclocking

Alienware Aurora R8

Alienware Aurora R8

I am trying to overclock the Aurora R8. I have the i9-9900K. I go into BIOS and select Profile 2. In About PC it still shows 3.6GHz. I tried overclocking in the AWCC shows the same thing. Am I missing something?

That sounds right...it should OC up to about 4.7 GHz.

The following is quoted from some Dell literature on the R8...

The Intel® Core i9-9900K processor brings 8 cores overclocked to 4.7GHz and up to 64GB of DDR4 at 3200MHz. The 9900K is also enabled with a 5.0GHz maximum Turbo Boost speed to offer greater performance to single-threaded applications.

When you overclock in AWCC you have to save and name that profile then tell AWCC where and when to use that OC profile. You may want to test then save. Also recommend to run your cpu fan / rad fan “Top” to a manual offset at around 47-50% and make sure your set to High Performance.

In the Area 51 I can go into the BIOS screen and set the clock multipliers individually for all 18 cores. Does the Aurora BIOS work that way too?
