Aurora R8, memory upgrade, speed problem
Hi. I have store bought Aurora R8 with 16GB 2666MHz RAM that is close to maxing out daily. No games, just browser stuff. Inside the case reveals two DIMMS 8GB + 8GB in slot 1 and slot 3
Which according to the Dell Manual Memory Configuration Matrix is not possible =
Aurora R8 Sevice Manual
and Aurora R8 Setup and Specifications
This is how it came from Fry's when I purchased.
1) To upgrade, what should I purchase?
2) If I move my two 8GB DIMMs into one memory bank of slot 1 and 2 - will that be more efficient?
Thank You

R8 is a bit of an older machine. For memory modules it's best to contact @DELL-Cares so they can check what memory modules are compatible and if they are available for sale, or not.

Not sure why you are saying it not a supported configuration:

Hi Vanadiel: I believe it is not a supported config b/c no where on that list does it say that only DIMM1 and DIMM3 can be occupied with 8 GB module like I have.

Thoughts on my upgrade path?
Thank You
